-Insert note-
This box called for a few different techniques that were quite simple yet effective with the styrene. First was the basic shape, a rectangle with a semi-circle end and a smaller rectangular hole near the top.

The first step was building up the sides. Small triangular pieces were used to brace. Again careful planning was needed before cutting, making sure to consider the materials thickness.

The design called for the box to have a sloped end where the semi-circle is. this was achieved by cutting a strip the same length as the interior of the box and cutting the desired curve into it. This piece was then placed into the box, running down the centre acting as a central support, but also a guide for the curve. with the flexibility of the styrene it was easy to fix the pieces together giving the desired curve.

A strip of .5mm styrene was used to clad the perimeter of the box. Wrapping it completely around the box, the excess can be cut off once the whole piece has been fixed

And the finished piece, again all edges sanded down to give an extremely clean and crisp finish.
